Skating skills 5. Serpentine crossover combinations.

We are continuing to work on crossovers, but this time we will combine crossovers with transitions and set them up on a serpentine pattern. Doing crossovers with other steps and turns in both directions encourages you to think and memorize exercises, which could be challenging and at the same time very useful especially for young kids.

  1. Forward and backward crossovers with change of edge from outside to inside

  2. Forward and backward crossovers with change of edge from inside to outside

  3. Forward and backward crossovers with choctaw transition

  4. Backward crossovers with three-turn transition

  5. Forward and backward crossovers with mohawk transition

All these exercises focus on edges, extension and ice coverage.

You can add some arm movements (Port de Bras) to exercises to make them more complicated.

You can use them as templates for your program patterns or just as warm ups for your practice ice session.

Here is the link to my youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/@styleskating35 , where you can watch all these exercises. I hope you enjoy watching my videos and learn something new.
