Skating skills 14. Loops.
Challenging, exciting and fun exercises for loops.
1) Starting simple. FO, FI, BO and BI loops back to back, alternating foot each time. Keep your skating leg bent through the loop and pay attention to your hips alignment.
2) Loop, power pull, double three-turn combination. Great exercise for rhythm and ankle work.
3) Loop, three-turn, power pull, loop, three-turn. Timing is important in this exercise. Go right into three-turn as you exit your loop, and keep working with your knee and ankle up and down into power pull.
4) Loop, power pull, loop. Great for twisting upper body and working your skating knee and ankle.
5) Consecutive loops on one foot with power pull between. Good power exercise.
6) Double loop. Make two loops in a row instead of one. Alignment and balance are keys here.
