Skating skills 12. Counters.

Counter combinations will be similar to my previous rockers video, but we will use brackets instead of three-turns to keep working on quick back to back turns in both directions.

This is your practice list:

  1. Simple counters from left and right foot with crossover and mohawk transitions.

  2. Left and right foot counters with more complicated transitions, using choctaw (which is a difficult step), power pull and crossroll.

  3. Counter followed by a bracket. This exercise helps to get shoulders/hips checked between turns.

  4. Counter with power pull and a bracket. Practice on this exercise improves power and edges.
